Catching Up: Part Five

In my last "Catching Up" post, I left off at the beginning of my treatment for Lyme Disease in early 2016. The years 2016 and 2017 were years of enormous upheaval and change in our family. Pure chaos, honestly.

My husband, Jonathan, decided late into his military career to take a leap and switch his career entirely, jumping into a brand new, unrelated airframe that required training from the bottom up. So, in late June 2016, we sold our home in North Las Vegas, packed everything - EVERYTHING - we owned into two storage units, and set out for San Antonio, Texas for training. We took nothing but our summer clothes and some toys for the girls, because we would be in furnished housing on base in Texas and would be returning to Las Vegas in November.

We made it to San Antonio jus in time to celebrate our nation's birthday...

Texas was SO hot... We spent the summer playing in water parks...

Snuggling with mama inside where it was cool, and I did not feel well enough to leave the couch or bed due to my continued medical treatments...

August rolled around and we found ourselves with TWO princesses in school! Our smart, FOUR-year-old, Kenley, started kindergarten...

And, Miss Caroline started first grade...

This precious thing stayed home with mama, and accompanied me to my treatments and to the park on days when I felt well enough...

We got creative with finding ways to keep entertained in a long term hotel with none of our stuff...

And, FINALLY...after a long summer of barely seeing daddy...he graduated from his training in late October!

And that was Texas...late June through October 2016...

We headed back to Nevada with a new item in tow...literally...more about that in my next "Catching Up" post... And, we ALL were so happy to leave the sticky, unbearable hades that is Texas, and head back to our mountains and Las Vegas!

XO
