Catching Up: Part Ten

In my last "Catching Up" post, we were nearing the end of summer... The last week of July, we decided to take a three week road trip all the way to the east coast. Right before school started. No joke. We got back the night before school started. Never again. It took us two months to recover and get back into a rhythm with all of that craziness! We left Las Vegas, drove up through Utah and into Colorado, spending the first night in Grand Junction. The next day, we drove all the way through Colorado and into Kansas, where we stayed just north of Wichita. The third day, we drove into Branson, Missouri, where we stationed our exhausted selves at our Bluegreen resort for a week. We did all the things. Well, as much as we could squeeze into a week...with young kids. It was nonstop, but they had a blast. And, at the end of our stay they were clamoring to stay longer, and Kenley vowed she was moving to Branson forever when she grew up. We did Silver Dollar City, Laura Ingalls Wilder Home & Museum, Bakersville (Baker Creek Seed Co.), Bass Pro Shop, went antiquing, and visited with friends and family. Enjoy the pics, I only posted my favorite ones - there were MANY more!

On the road again...

First stop, Silver Dollar City! It rained the whole time we were there - it was amazing!

Spinning teacups...

Flying elephants...

Swings...

Listening to live Cajun music...

Mama had had enough round and round rides at this point...

Her favorite...

Liberty survived American Plunge...

Two gorgeous unicorns...

And, one sweet fairy...

Rain!!! And trees!!! And, GREEN!!!! Be still my heart...how I've missed this landscape...

Totally soaked, but we survived and are so happy!

Sunset in the Ozarks...

After touring Laura Ingalls Wilder's home in Mansfield with some friends (I was so busy looking and visiting, I forgot to take pics!), we headed out to Bakersville - home of Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co. The girls were in heaven with all of the beautiful gardens and country town buildings to explore...

There were honeybees every where!

So much love...

"I want those peppers, mama!"

Crazy looking squash...

And, butterflies...

The girls were fascinated by all the caterpillars...

When in Springfield, there is one place you HAVE to go...

The "grandaddy of all outdoor stores" - Bass Pro Shop...

These three are a mess...

It's been good, Missouri! Until next time...

Next stop - North Carolina!!
