Love is never wasted, for its value does not rest upon reciprocity.
Loving people, especially people that may not be quick to return your love the way you hoped, requires you to be courageous, curious and hopeful. Your love for others should be rooted in your hopeful desire to better someone else and not in a desire to make yourselves feel better. It means that your care is not dependent on their response. Its foundation rests on humility. You have the responsibility to choose to love difficult people, wade through uncomfortable circumstances and elevate the interest of others above our own at times. Loving well is never a waste.
